Google Chrome is a Beta version so there is bound to be some problems and nixes. Some of the problems that cannot be fixed till the final version is available.
But many people may consider some elements as flaws which cannot be fixed. So i thought of giving a list of some common elements of the browser that people mistake as mistakes....

  • The Automatic File Download - "Chrome automatically downloads files" : Google Chrome downloads files (.exe , .pdf , .zip) automatically without prompting (asking if u are sure to download the file)
  • Solution:
  1. Click on the small tool icon on the right end of address bar.
  2. Select Options
  3. Under Minor Tweaks click on the "Ask where to save each file before downloading" under Download Location.

  • No Home Page Button - there is no homepage or option to setup a homepage or use the Speed dial like feature on Startup.
  • Solution:

There is a feature for HOME page but it is Switched off by default. To switch it on :
  1. Click on the small tool icon on the right end of address bar.
  2. In the Basic Tab : In Startup select "Open the Home Page"
  3. To setup a specific site as your Home Page select "Open this page" under Home Page.
  4. To use the speed dial like features which displays some of your most visited or last visited site select "use the New Tab page"
  5. To Display a Home Page BUTTON on the browser select "show Home Button on Toolbar"

  • Auto Import Bookmarks and other Settings- Google Chrome automatically Downloads Bookmarks and other settings from other Browsers on my PC (like Firefox and Internet Explorer)
  • Solution:
  1. There is an option to customise which stuff you want to import, When u are installing it.
  2. After you run the setup and the installer finishes downloading all the files for Chrome there is a small blue text at the bottom of the new window to "customise installation" where you can opt to importe settings or not.

  • No Bookmarks Or Manage Bookmarks- Google Chrome does not show my bookmarks. " i cant live without m bookmarks".
  • Solution: Agreed there is no Google bookmarks available as for now, but there are Bookmarks and a Bookmark toolbar.
  1. Click on the small tool icon on the right end of address bar.
  2. Click on "Always Show Bookmarks Bar" or Ctrl+B
  3. To Manage them Click on the STAR Button on the left of Address Bar.
  4. Then Click on EDIT.

  • No Undo Close Tab - Once you close a tab there is no way of retrieving it.
  • Solution : There is an option to closed recently closed tabs.
  1. Open a new blank tab.
  2. In the bottom right side of the page there is a small light Orange color box titled " Recently Closed Tabs"
  3. To Open last Closed tab Press " Ctrl + Shift + T"

Picassa 3.0 and Changes in Picassa Web Albums

Picasa Web albums was launched three years ago for making publishing photos online easier. It now one of the most popular and widely used online photo manager.Google is now rolling out major technology upgrades to both Picasa and Picasa Web Albums.

Picasa Web Albums comes with a brand-new feature called "name tags" that helps you quickly label all the people in your photos, a feature now common in online photo sharing (kind of like in Facebook Albums)

The site now has a fresh, clean look that makes photos look great, and a new "Explore" page that allows you to browse some of the most interesting public content on our site, including "Recent Photos," a near-real-time view of public photos uploaded to Picasa Web Albums. You can now also email photos directly to Picasa Web Albums.

Of course, Picasa Web Albums is only half the story. The great advantage of Picasa Web Albums has always been its integration with Picasa, Google's free photo management software for your PC. Google has recently made public the
beta version of Picasa 3 at picasa.google.com.

Picasa now comes with automatic Face Recognition so tagging your photos was never this easy.

Picasa is argueably one of the best photo management software and with a upgrade to Picasa 3.0 things can get even hotter.

This Problem is for those using  Symantec Endpoint Security.

Solution 1:
This solution works by Running Chrome with - no-Sandbox ..From

-no-sandbox disables Google Chrome's sandbox protection that keeps the system safe from problems in web sites' HTML and Javascript. It's a workaround that helps us identify the root cause of this issue, but not a long term solution.
  • Start - Settings - Control Panel- Add and Remove Programs
  • Select Symantec Endpoint Security and click on CHANGE
  • In the new window Click on NEXT
  • Then Select MODIFY and Click on NEXT
  • Turn Off Application and Device Control (by clicking on the small icon with a down arrow and click on the X)
  • Click NEXT and complete the install.
  • Reboot
(This May have some effect on the Anti Virus Protection)

UPDATED
Solution 2:
This solution is suggested by Symantec, works only if your Symantec Endpoint Security (SEP) is unmanaged ....From

  • Back up the registry on an affected system.
  • Open the registry on the Agent system by entering regedit from a Run prompt (Start --Run).
  • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SysPlant.
  • Open the Start DWORD.
  • Change the value to 4 to disable the drivers.Reboot the system to commit the changes.
Again the stability of this fix is also not known and is Not The Final Solution.

Google Chrome Works Perfectly fine now!!!!

SOLUTION 3

To fix the problem first you will need to find all of the shortcuts for the program including the one on your Quick Launch task bar. Right click on the shortcuts and go to properties.

Add the argument –no-sandbox at the end of the Target Path for Google Chrome shortcut. The argument should be spelled out like this: hyphen, hyphen,no,hyphen sandbox without the commas.

After adding the argument in the Target Path line, click OK to save the changes. Double click on the shortcut to execute the Google Chrome internet browser and it should work fine.
